The origins of Sourdust Pottery begin in 1990 when John Scott started
the company shortly after finishing school where his love for pottery
began, and he has been creating ever since. Drawing on traditional techniques
he explored his own variations to produce a series of distinctive hand
crafted ceramic giftware ranges.
Sourdust Pottery is a family run business creating unique items of pottery
each with an individual design created with a large attention to detail.
Today Sourdust Pottery is eagerly sought both in its standard designs,
in limited editions and individual artist's 'one-off' pieces.
The ongoing positive response of galleries, quality craft retailers and
individual customers has enabled Sourdust Pottery to expand to larger
premises and establish a gallery adjacent to the pottery. As well as Sourdust
Pottery ranges, the gallery showcases John Scott's 'one off' creations
alongside the work of other local artists.
