The Palmer Flatt Hotel is mid way between Leyburn and Hawes, Leyburn is known as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dale.

The area of Palmer Flatt dates back as far as the Crusades, where once a hospice stood on this site. Palmer takes its name from the pilgrims who returned from the Holy Land

The Palmer Flatt Hotel and Restaurant in North Yorkshire is a idyllic hotel with picturesque views. The hotel site dates as far back as the Crusades, when it stood as a hospice. The Palmer Flatt Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Aysgarth village in Wensleydale. The hotel provides 12 en-suite bedrooms, with colour TV, central heating and tea/coffee making facilities. We have a large restaurant that will seat over 60 people, which also provides a Sunday Carvery.

The Palmer Flatt Hotel is situated above the picturesque Aysgarth Falls in the heart of Wensleydale. You can visit the higher, middle and lower falls which all have an individual beauty during every season. The Main falls were used for the fight scene between Robin Hood and John Little in the movie Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

There are several other attractions surrounding the hotel including in Yorkshire, The Forbidden Corner, a strange but fascinating place for all age groups. Bolton Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned before escaping in 1568, Hardraw Falls (also used in the filming of Robin Hood), Redmire and West Burton Falls. There are numerous walks for you to enjoy ranging from a few miles to strenuous long distance walks, which have featured in the "Inn Way" walking guides.

The Function room can cater for up to 40 people and is ideal for small wedding receptions, parties and conferences. Our bar is extremely inviting to both visitors and hotel patrons. Once inside you can benefit from the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere within this tradtional country style bar.

The hotel has 10 en suite bedrooms, each with its own tea and coffee making facilities and television.

Meals Eating Out

Meals are served daily. Lunchtime from 12pm until 2pm and in the evening 6pm until 8.30pm. The Palmer Flatt carvery is available every sunday 12pm until 2pm. (Booking is advised)
