The Esplanade Gardens Hotel retains much of the charisma and character that goes with being built in Scarborough's Victorian heyday in 1878. It is a family run, non-smoking guesthouse and has great charm warmth and hospitality, in an outstanding location. We are open all year round and provide attractively decorated, clean, comfortable rooms, a hearty breakfast and a friendly lounge bar serving bar snacks for our guests.

It was originally built as part of the ambitious Southcliff expansion plan, when many new hotels and apartments were required to accommodate the gentry who had discovered the delights of Scarborough's spa waters and sea bathing. Just a few yards from the stunning Italian Gardens, The Esplanade Gardens is also just a short walk from the beach and seafront. This incredible location affords guests valuable holiday moments to treasure that would otherwise be wasted on travel - everything you could possibly want is right on the doorstep.

The Esplanade Gardens Guest House is situated just 200 yards from the cliff lift down to the Spa Complex and just a 15 minute walk from the town centre and glorious harbour. We are also ideally located for those wanting to enjoy the famed Italian Gardens and are overlooked by Oliver's Mount. A free parking permit on your arrival means you can park near the hotel without any restrictions.

For those wishing to explore the delights of the region beyond Scarborough, we are within easy reach of Whitby, York and beautiful Ryedale, as well as all the attractions, historic sites and activities that abound in Yorkshire. For many visitors though, Scarborough and our lovely neighbouring towns of Filey and Bridlington, offer more than enough to fill a short break, weekend away or full holiday.
