We have rowing boats (with or without outboard engines) Mirror and Topper sailing dinghies, kayaks, inflatable dinghy for boating trips on Ullswater and mountain bikes and there are boat launching and storage facilities for visitors own boats. Please advise requirements on booking.

Horse Riding and Trecking in the Lake District

there is grazing available for visitors own horses (May - October) and or those without own horses, riding can be arranged locally. Route maps can be provided or riders can be accompanied by a qualified Trail Riding Leader.

Dogs and pets welcome with direct access to fell walkseasy. It is a great place to explore the rest of Lake District and the Scottish Borders, Hadrian's Wall and Yorkshire Dales.

This detached stone-built farmhouse believed to date from the Seventeenth Century is reached by a private drive and is surrounded by grazing land. There are extensive views across Ullswater.

Ravensghyll Cottage sleeps 8 people.
This stone built cottage was converted from outbuildings approx. 45 years ago and improvements have been carried out recently.

Swarthbeck Cottage sleeps 6 people.
This semi-detached stone-built cottage dates from the 18th century and is situated next to the owners farmhouse (on the left in the photograph). It is reached by a private track.

Auterstone Cottage sleeps 8 people.
This stone-built detached cottage which dates from the 17th century is reached by a private track from the main road. It has a small private yard and is surrounded by grazing land. There is parking space for several cars, and extensive views across the lake.

Swarthbeck House sleeps 14 people.
This attractive family house was built originally as a cottage in the 19th Century and substantially altered in the 1930s. It has recently been partly rebuilt and completely re-furbished to a high standard.
