Originally a farmstead, built in the 17th century, Scalebeck nestles peacefully
in the upper Eden Valley, just one mile from the pretty village of Great
Asby.
Much work has been done at Scalebeck Holiday Cottages to make your stay
as comfortable as possible. Retaining much of its original character,
the cottages, have been well-equipped and tastefully furnished to provide
charming and cosy accommodation. Suitable all year round as all cottages
are fully gas central heated.
We have a cycle store and laundry with a coin operated washing machine,
dryer and public telephone.
There is also a games room with an excellent pool table and table tennis
table.
We are centrally located and surrounded by beautiful scenery it makes
an ideal place to relax, unwind and enjoy the numerous walks and wildlife
in the immediate area. Converted to a good standard from the former hay
barn and standing alongside the owners' home within twelve acres of woodland
and farmland it is bordered by Scale Beck.
The historic market town of Appleby with its excellent amenities is 4
miles. Penrith is only 16 miles, Ullswater 22 miles, shops 4 miles and
the pub 1 mile.
