Welcome to Manesty Self Catering Holiday Cottages, at the foot of Cat Bells and Maiden Moor in the heart of Borrowdale; the ideal base for a holiday you, your family and your friends will long remember. Behind Manesty the heather clad fells rise to 1800 feet and below spreads the valley floor. Derwentwater is close by, hidden by The National Trust woodland and parkland There is so much on your doorstep to see and do amongst some of England's most spectacular scenery: walk the lake shore, river valleys and high dramatic fells; tour picturesque villages and fascinating sites; cycle, row, birdwatch, fish, climb; simply recharge your batteries in rural tranquility.

Manesty's elevated position in our extensive well kept grounds gives an exceptional sense of place offering magnificent views across a classic Lake District valley towards the spectacular fells that are such a feature of the area. It is built in traditional Lakeland style on a sunny site chosen centuries ago.

The five cottages ranging from one to four bedrooms in size are converted from the original farmstead buildings. The fine old farmhouse incorporates what are now three of the cottages: Manesty Band, Manesty and Manesty Dairy. It is flanked by two converted barns, Cocklety How and High Seat. Each cottage is self-contained with its own entrance, grounds and car parking space. Along with all the mod-cons inside including freesat satellite TV, DVD players and wireless internet you can barbeque outside and finish the evening stargazing from our all-natural, wood-fired hot tub.

As well as the five cottages, we have Cocklety How Studio Apartment taking part week holidays for two all year round, and Youdale Knot Holiday Caravan.

Manesty's location is wonderfully central and you will benefit from the local knowledge of your hosts Cheryl and Alan Leyland, whose family have lived at Manesty for six generations.
